Hongying (Hoy) Shen, Ph.D. Principal Investigator
Hoy Shen is an assistant professor at Cellular & Molecular Physiology at Yale School of Medicine and an institute member at Systems Biology Institute at Yale West Campus, starting Jan 2020.
Hoy Shen received her BS in chemistry from Nanjing University in China in 2006 and completed her graduate work with Dr Pietro De Camilli at Yale University in 2013, where she studied membrane curvature formation and lipid metabolism during endocytic trafficking. After a postdoctoral training with Dr Vamsi K. Mootha at MGH and Harvard to study mitochondrial metabolism in cellular and organismal physiology using integrated metabolomics and CRISPR screen, Hoy Shen joined Yale as an assistant professor in Jan 2020. Hoy was awarded with NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) (2017-23), Lois E and Franklin H. Top Jr. Yale Scholar Award (2021) and Klingenstein-Simons Fellowship Award in Neurosciences (2021).
